Chia Hotels
Chia is a beautiful place that is part of the
South Coast and stretches along the western sector of the Gulf of Cagliari, via
Cape Spartivento, Cape Malfatano and finally Cape Teulada. There are 48 hotels
in this area, 3 of which are five stars, 18 are four stars and 7 are three
stars, in addition to the B&Bs, complexes, resorts, villas and apartments.
Here the
coast and the beaches reflect the great and incredible variety of Sardinia?s
areas and the more you explore, the more you see the most diverse forms of
rocks and beaches.
Many of
these beaches are part of the Domus De Maria district, which Chia is an
integral part of, as well as the Tuerredda beach and Su Giudeu - a small island
that is reachable on foot, because the water here is very shallow with a sandy
bed. If you climb to the top, just 18 metres high, you can admire the panorama
and the incredible emerald green clear sea waters. The peculiarity of these places is also due
to the coastal lagoons next to large dunes that surround the areas in which the
beautiful pink flamingos and many other types of aquatic birds nest and live.
All of this helps to characterise a place whose scenery is of incomparable
beauty. There are numerous towers, many of Spanish origin such as the Torre di
Chia, which is also the symbol of this town that once allowed, from the top of
the promontory, strategic control of the old city of Bithia.
And here
you can drive along the scenic route, so you can enjoy the view of incredible
landscapes that join up towards Cape Spartivento, on the most eastern side,
where the granite rocks are similar to those found on the Gallura coast. From
this point you can admire the splendid beach known as Cala Cipolla, decorated
entirely with fragrant juniper and pine trees, and from here you get even
closer to the sea through Cape Malfatano, formed by a long series of small and
pleasant hills, all covered with Mediterranean scrub, the highest of which is
approximately 64m, on which stands Torre di Malfatano.
On the west side of this hill, you can admire a
schistous cliff, whereas on the east side, an ample indentation houses the
Malfatano Port, partly used as a small and perfectly integrated fish pond as it
benefits from the immaculate clear blue water.
Not far from there it is possible to admire another enchanting tower
next to the equally charming Port of Piscinni, which offers a beach whose sand
is whiter than white and fine like few others, and the seawater is completely
transparent. You would undoubtedly say that it is paradise, and that?s how it
seems to us.
